Assassins of the Cross are elite members of the Assassins Guild. Only seven elite assassins wear the symbol of the guillotine cross and are dispersed all over the world. No Assassin Cross knows of the other six. Of the seven, only Loki and Julianna Lucille are known of so far.
While Assassins of the Cross usually leave the Assassins Guild to operate alone, Loki is unique in that he remains with the Guild even after becoming an Assassin of the Cross.
History[]
Not much is known as to when the first assassin became powerful enough to be an Assassin of the Cross. Since there are only 7 in the entire world of Midgard, it is assumed the process to become one is extremely difficult and/or complicated.
Since the number of Assassin Crosses skyrocket later on, it's speculated that the process must have been simplified significantly for so many Assassins to become so powerful. However, as the new generation of Assassin Crosses do not bear the mark of the Guillotine Cross, it is possible that the title of Assassin of the Cross is separate from the now usual Assassin Cross in that an Assassin Cross is nowhere near as powerful as a true Assassin of the Cross.
