Like many MMORPGs on the market, different hairstyles are available in Ragnarok Online for players to customize their characters with. There are different versions of hairstyles for both male and female characters.
In the beginning of RO's development, hairstyles were once animated so that they would mesh with the movement animation of player characters. They were later replaced with static versions for some reason. (Read more on Unimplemented RO Features.)
Once you have all the items required to change your character's hairstyle, you can either go to the Lighthalzen General Store (3rd floor) or the Alberta Hair Salon. Keep in mind that each hair salon will offer different sets of hairstyles.
Alberta Hair Salon[]
In Alberta, the hair salon was fashioned from an unused inn by a lady name Veronica. In order to choose a particular hairstyle, players must enter a numerical digit from 1 to 19. All of these hairstyles are available on the character creation screen.
Male[]
1: Play Dead style It's a nice, basic haircut. I notice that usually the cute, conservative types seem to prefer this style.
2: Two-Handed Sword Mastery style It's perfect for Swordsmen who might muss their hair while swinging their swords all day long.
3: Napalm Beat style It's a unique look with a hint of eccentricity that's offset with a helping of elegance.
4: Double Strafe style The arrangement of the hair conducts ambient static electricity, naturally clearing the mind. At least, that's what I was taught in beauty school.
5: Angelus style It's for calm and devout people, as well as those bashful, mild-mannered types.
6: Push Cart style It was based on the design of a cart... At least, that's what I learned in beauty school.
7: Envenom style It looks great on Thieves and Assassins when they're out poisoning people and animals. It's fashion for the aggressive and eclectic~!
8: Bowling Bash style A popular style for Knights, its manly, rugged look tends to attract all of the ladies and looks great on men with strong chins.
9: Venom Dust style Definitely a look for rebels, the sweeping yet decidedly luxorious locks seem to enchant girls with a fatal attraction.
10: Turn Undead style This is popular amongst Priests that want a serious yet a bit of a wild, aggressive look. Definitely more attractive than the Holy Light mullet.
11: Dragonology style It's neat and clean cut, perfect for studious people and looks great with eyeglasses. This is a fashion well-suited to intellectual types.
12: Mace Mastery style A lot of care goes into making that tussled hair say, "I don't care how I look at all."
13: Thunderstorm style This hot, flamboyant hairstyle flares out wildly like thunder... And you will, too, with this new look.
14: Encore style The elegant, flowing locks fit well with Bards or men who appreciate the value of male beauty.
15: Grimtooth style Spiky and unkempt, this style is a popular counterculture street fashion. You might not want to wear your hair this way at a wedding, though.
16: Blitz Beat style A funky and lively fashion, this style was developed for a Hunter who liked really long bangs and wanted to see through them at the same time.
17: Find Ore style It's a practical, economical look that is popular amongst Blacksmiths. Some swear that this hairstyle helps them in finding ores, but where's the science in that??
18: Fire Pillar style It's a trendy look in which you cover one eye for that intrigue effect. The element of mystery is always in fashion, don't you think?
19: Asura Strike style The smooth, slicked back pompadour shows that you're serious about your passion for brawling... or just your passion.
Female[]
1: First Aid style The shoulder length tresses are straightened for those no-nonsense adventurers. It seems to be the style of choice for Novices.
2: Bash style For the powerful woman that's not afraid to get a little blood on her hands, but knows how great her hair will look while wildly flailing a sword.
3: Frost Diver style The pigtails lend an innocent demure look for those Magicians and Wizards that usually scare off the boys with their spells.
4: Arrow Shower style For the Bowwoman who doesn't want fashion to interfere with her depth perception. Much more attractive than those horrid granny-style hair buns.
5: Heal style This is the trend amongst Priests and Acolytes since this style is appropriate for formal situations, but also practical in battle.
6: Vending style It's the hairdo of money-makers... and if I may say so, it's also economical.
7: Double Attack style The adorable pigtail paired with those proactive bangs are sure to help you steal the heart of some cute guy.
8: Gloria style It's very elegant and looks great on holy Priests. This style is most attractive to ladies who aren't that used to fighting with their hands.
9: SP Recovery style To add more body to the special style of those bangs, I use a special conditioner that makes you feel like you're regaining SP... Although, it actually doesn't.
10: Prepare Potion style The flared out tresses are chosen by beginning Alchemists since early, explosive experiments would make their hair stick out anyway.
11: Grand Cross style It's in style amongst those pious Crusaders that need hair that won't muss during fights, yet is respectable enough to attend religious services.
12: Plagiarize style The Rogue women seem to like this style... although I imagine more of them would prefer something wilder to match those stockings...
13: Spiritual Sphere Absorption style There's a charismatic quality to this fashion: it's tough, slightly tomboyish, but not so much that it can't be cute.
14: Service for You style Dancers seem to like this style, although personally, I think this fashion fits very well with glasses.
15: Auto Counter style This is an intimidating look for girls that want to say 'you hit me, I'll hit you back!' It really emphasizes strong-looking foreheads and cheekbones.
16: Ankle Snare style The style is specially made for Hunters that don't like to get their hair tangled... After all, what kind of Hunter lets their hair get trapped?
17: Hammer Fall style For the woman that doesn't want her hair to get in the way when she's savagely swinging heavy objects. Of course, this is a Blacksmith favorite.
18: Jupiter Thunder style A look that strikes like lightning without any of that annoying static cling or muss. This fashion looks great with Magician hats.
19: Whirlwind Style A favorite amongst the studious Sages. The hair is tied back in a stylish braid so that it doesn't fly around after casting those windy spells.
Lighthalzen General Store[]
The Lighthalzen hairstylist by the name of Prince Shammi is located on the third floor of the Lighthalzen General Store. He offers a much smaller selection of hairstyles. The Old Hairstyles can be selected on the character creation screen, but the New Hairstyles are unavailable on it.
