Hidden Enchantment

From Ragnarok Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search
An item with 3 hidden slots for enchantments.

Hidden Enchantment is a crafting system in Ragnarok Online that enchants weapons and gear with stat bonuses or attribute boosts. It is called hidden because it utilizes "hidden" card slots on weapons and gear items. As such, items with no card slots are valued more than items with card slots when it comes to Hidden Enchantments.

Enchanting Items[edit | edit source]

Unlike the regular Socket Enchant NPC, the weapon or gear item is randomly given a certain stat bonus or attribute boost. An already-enchanted armor can be enchanted again, but will lose any bonuses, upgrades, cards, etc.

NOTE: If you have an un-upgraded, uncarded, unslotted, unenchanted armor and want a slotted-enchanted-upgraded version, (if it's slottable/upgradeable) it is necessary to first slot it with the Socket Enchant NPC, then use the Hidden Enchant NPC to add stat bonuses, then upgrade. Once successful, a card may then be added to it. This ensures no upgrades/cards/slots/stat bonuses are lost along the way (assuming each step is successful).[1]

Success Rates[edit | edit source]

When enchanting, all previous enchantments, upgrades, and cards are lost. There is a chance of failure, in which case the item is destroyed.[2]

Item Class Chance of Success
+1 +2 +3 Overall Success Rate
Unslotted 40% 26.67% 13.33% 80%
Slotted 36% 24% 12% 72%
High Grade 32.73% 21.82% 10.91% 65.46%

Enchantments[edit | edit source]

There are several different kinds of hidden enchantments that can enchant weapons, gear, or both with a variety of stat bonuses and attribute boosts.

Mora Enchants[edit | edit source]

The enchants available in the town of Mora are mainly for class-specific gear and gear sets.[3]

Malangdo Enchants[edit | edit source]

The enchants available on the island of Malangdo are mainly for certain level 3 and 4 weapons and can give each weapon up to two enchants.[4]

Biolab Enchants[edit | edit source]

An NPC at the Regenschirm Laboratory sewer entrance enables certain enchants for weapons and armor dropped by Bio Labs monsters.[5]

Fallen Angel Wings Enchants[edit | edit source]

Fallen Angel Wings is a garment that can be enchanted with a variety of enchantments by the Valkyrie in the Eden Group kitchen. There is no fee for enchanting, however, resetting enchantments costs 1,000,000 Zeny. There is no chance to fail or break the wings.[6]

Old Glastheim Enchants[edit | edit source]

The Temporal Crystals and Coagulated Spells earned from doing the Glastheim instance can be exchanged for Temporal Boots. The NPC Hugin's Butler will exchange 1 Temporal Crystal for 1 normal Temporal Boots. These boots can be further upgraded to a specific Stat Temporal Boots (example INT Temporal, etc.) in exchange for 5 Temporal Crystals. The player has to be wearing the Temporal boots to upgrade them.

The NPC Magic master can enchant the 4th slot of Stat Temporal Boots using 1 Coagulated Spell. The player can select the nature of enchantment. Once enchanted the player can increase the level of enchantment 3 times in exchange for additional Coagulated Spells.[7]
