|~ Lord Irine upon reuniting with Iris|
Lord Irine was the previous leader of Payon and father of both Iris Irine and Sarah Irine. He is a powerful fighter and well-versed in magic. Despite his intimidating stature, he has an almost comical love for his daughter Iris and dotes on her whenever he gets the chance.
On iRO, this character is localized as Doyen Irene.
Story[edit | edit source]
Years ago, Lord Irine was married to another woman with whom he conceived Sarah. When Sarah was only 4 years old, an assassin infiltrated the Irine household and attacked Sarah's mother. Lord Irine came in time to catch the assassin and kill him, but he was unfortunately too late to save his wife. To make matters worse, Sarah came just as he killed the assassin, making the scene look as if he killed his wife. This caused his daughter to get the wrong impression and flee the scene. He sent the Payon guards to get Sarah out of fear of losing her as well, but she disappeared in the confusion, never to be seen again for another 12 years.
Lord Irine later remarries and has Iris. On Iris' 18th birthday, Lord Irine confesses to her that she has an older sister but was not able to explain more before Sarah began her revenge upon Payon. In the heat of battle, Sarah successfully stabs her father with her sword with Sakray coming in to finish him off. He perished when Nidhoggr, a great dragon accidentally summoned by Chaos, fires a massive roar at the three and obliterates the entire area.
