In recent years, GRAVITY has been undergoing a refresh of Ragnarok Online on a global scale by replacing old publishers and implementing what has been known as Revo-Classic servers. These servers are set to have pre-Renewal content, but with a mix of pre-Renewal and Renewal mechanics. The thRO and new pRO servers have already received this kind of server and now iRO is set to get their first one. RO players in general have been on the fence about these servers. A popular consensus seems to be a desire for pre-Renewal mechanics with Renewal content and UI. These backward servers seem to indicate that the developers are trying to do a Renewal 2.0 and starting from square one, which may work better than trying to fix 14 years of a broken game. Gravity Interactive has announced that due to agreements with GRAVITY, all players residing in the Philippines region are to be blocked from playing on iRO's Revo-Classic server.
Source: WarpPortal Forums Because of the fact both iRO and pRO are serviced in English, they are forced to compete with each other over English-speaking players residing in the Philippines. Doesn't really make sense for GRAVITY to have RO to compete with RO when the game should be focused on competing with other MMORPGs. Don't know how that results in more profits for them. |

As it is now, RO has 3 different job class systems in place: Core system - 1st, 2nd, Rebirth/Trans Classes are locked at 99, with 3rd Classes being the only way to max level) *NOTE: Taekwon Class follows the Core system even though it's classified as an Expanded Class while Super Novice goes by a pseudo-Doram system. If Revo-Classic is their way of trying to consolidate them all into a single job class system, then the Revo-Classic server movement is the perfect opportunity to do so. |
